The SEC Historical Society is pleased to announce its Officers and Trustees for 2026

Elizabeth P. Gray will serve as President. Ms. Gray is a retired partner at Willkie Farr and Gallagher LL and former Co-Chair of Willkie’s Securities Litigation & Enforcement Practice. She served as Assistant Director in the SEC’s Division of Enforcement and Counsel to Chair Arthur Levitt.

Ms. Gray said, “I’m honored to lead the SEC Historical Society and am passionate about preserving the history of securities regulation and the evolution of our financial markets. The Society’s Virtual Museum is a tremendous resource that tells the story of how the SEC has regulated the capital markets and captures the depth of those who have been part of that story.”

Ms. Gray succeeds Lori A. Richards, who becomes Chair. Ms. Richards served with the SEC from 1985 to 2009 in the Division of Enforcement, on the executive staff of Chairman Arthur Levitt, and as the first Director of the Office of Compliance Inspections and Examinations. She subsequently served as a Principal at PwC and a Managing Director at JPMorgan.

“As the incoming Chair of the Society, I’m happy to support its role in the preservation of the SEC’s vibrant history. I’m looking forward to working with Elizabeth, the Executive Committee and the Board of Trustees to ensure that the Virtual Museum continues to capture the stories of the SEC’s work to protect investors over the years.  And looking ahead, we’ll be making some terrific enhancements to our Virtual Museum this year to be sure it continues serve as a valuable resource,” said Ms. Richards.

Ms. Richards succeeds Meredith B. Cross as Chair. Ms. Cross is Senior Counsel in the Securities and Transactional Departments at WilmerHale’s New York and Washington, D.C. offices and former Director of the SEC’s Division of Corporation Finance. She will continue to serve on the Board of Trustees.

In addition to Ms. Gray and Ms. Richards, the 2026 officers are:

  • President-Elect Consuelo Hitchcock, Principal in the Regulatory Affairs Group at Deloitte & Touche LLP and former SEC Counsel to the Chair and to the Director of the Division of Corporation Finance
  • Treasurer Shelley E. Parratt, former Deputy Director of the SEC Division of Corporation Finance
  • Secretary Lorraine B. Echavarria, Partner, Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr and formerly the Associate Regional Director of Enforcement in the Los Angeles office
  • Vice President of the Museum G. Jeffrey Boujoukos, Partner at Morgan Lewis & Bockius LLP and former SEC Regional Director of the Philadelphia Regional Office
  • Vice President of Development and Engagement Ronald C. Long, Special Counsel at Stevens & Lee and former Administrator of the SEC Philadelphia Office

Newly appointed Trustee:

Robert L.D. Colby, Executive Vice President and Chief Legal Officer at FINRA, was appointed to the Board of Trustees for a three-year term beginning this year and ending in 2028.

Three Trustees re-appointed to serve an additional three-year term:

  • Peter K.M. Chan, Partner at Baker McKenzie LLP
  • Keir D. Gumbs, Chief Legal Officer at Edward Jones
  • Shelley E. Parratt, SECHS Treasurer and former Deputy Director of the SEC Division of Corporation Finance

The new officers, newly appointed Trustee, and re-appointed Trustees join the following members of the Society Board:
